Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance. When we think about dance being part of a child’s life for the benefit of their development, rather than just a cute activity (especially geared to little girls) …it changes things. I can certainly see how, as a mom myself who wants to encourage proper development, if research says movement is the key, then of course I’m going to enroll my kids in dance! 

This is the message we need to be getting out to the world. Dance is so much more than cuteness and research is on our side. Now, I am not suggesting that the full responsibility of a child’s development lies in our hands as their dance teacher. I am, however, suggesting that we use our platform to spread the importance of movement and educate parents on why it’s important for their children.
