Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance. According to a 2008 report from the University of Virginia, where 1,000 schools were observed, there are 3 critical factors of effective teachers:

1.   They offer Organizational Support– Teachers are organized and prepared with planned practices and procedures in place to manage a classroom successfully.
2.   They offer Instructional Support– Teachers create and deliver content effectively so students will comprehend and master the lesson goals.
3.   They offer Emotional Support– They are a positive influencer that believes every child can succeed.

Overall, an effective teacher smiles, is a giver, a problem solver, patient, loving, organized, flexible, sensitive to their students needs, and a confident leader in their classes and with their dance families.
