Minute Masterclass Episode 21

Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance. When a teacher has to change their focus from their students to the stereo, off-task behavior usually follows. The solution to avoid this opportunity for class derailment is to create lesson plan playlists! Once you have developed a well-thought out lesson plan, creating a playlist is easy! But, don’t forget the most important part….transition music.

Once you have your transitions planned, decide on how long each transition will take. Is it something quick like, “show me how you move on a low level to your tape mark” or is it an introduction to a new concept that may take a few minutes to share? Next, search silent tracks that are the length of your transition and add that to your playlist. This transition track will prevent rushing to stop the music before the next activity song plays. This will allow you to keep your little ones engaged and on the planned track of learning! For more information, visit DiscoverDance.com.
