Minute Masterclass Episode 75

Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance and creator of the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators. Today we are exploring the theme, Jungle Boogie. Our concept for this theme is LEVEL. We create a multi-sensory learning environment by introducing the concept with themed movement cards, or stuffed animals, as we talk about the animals that live in the jungle… like the monkeys swinging HIGH in the trees and the snakes slithering LOW on the ground. We develop our lower body strength by jumping, leaping, and hopping HIGH and our upper body and core strength by slithering, crawling, and rolling on a LOW level. We warm-up with the song B-Banana/Monkey See, Monkey Do by Carole Stephens and we explore our jungle animal movements and the concept of the day with the song Jungle Animals by the Kiboomers.
