Minute Masterclass Episode 76

Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance and creator of the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators. Today we are exploring the theme, Outer Space. Our concept for this theme is WEIGHT. We create a multi-sensory learning environment by introducing the concept with themed movement cards, or a toy rocket ship, as we talk about the STRONG weight of our rocket taking off and the LIGHT weight of our rocket orbiting in space.  We develop our body awareness as we recognize when our muscles are engaged and strong and when they are light and loose. We explore our theme and the concept of the day with the song Zoom, Zoom, We’re Going to the Moon by the Kiboomers.
