Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance and creator of the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators and the DiscoverDance Experience Membership. Today, we’re starting a new series all about observation week. For caregivers, this is the opportunity to observe their child’s classes, witness the progress they’re making, and catch up on the latest studio news. For students, this is the opportunity to show off all of their hard work and to share their love of dance with their caregivers. As nervous as our students get, they really do love inviting the people they love most into their special space. For teachers, it’s our opportunity to educate our dance families on the importance of dance in their child’s life. We know, however, that this can be an extremely stressful week, so let’s talk about it! In the upcoming weeks we will identify the challenges you may face and the steps to take to prepare for a successful observation experience. By the end of the series, we will flip the script on observation week and it may even become your favorite week of the season!
