Minute Masterclass Episode 172

Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance and creator of the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators and the DiscoverDance Experience Membership. Today we’re talking about the fourth station of our DiscoverDance 5-station obstacle course: the spatial pattern station. We create different pathways and patterns for the dancers to perform as they locomote through this station of the obstacle course. We can move from poly spot to poly spot in a straight pathway, follow a zig zag pathway with poly feet, locomote around a hoop in a curvy pathway, or even move on and off of step stools in an up and down pattern. Again, just like in our gross motor station from episode 171, think of the codified skills you are teaching across the floor and put them in this part of your obstacle course. We can get so much more accomplished in our classes if we keep our dancers moving!
