Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench, founder of DiscoverDance and creator of the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators and the DiscoverDance Experience Membership. Today we’re starting a new series diving into the Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators. The Foundations Course was first launched in December 2020. In the summer of 2023, we completely updated the course and added additional modules and lessons. Module 1 explores the guides we follow to ensure we are offering a brain-compatible dance education that focuses on the developing child. In Module 2, we explore the goals we set for our classes throughout the stages of development. Module 3 is all about our class systems. We share our classroom management plan, as well as breakdown our lesson plan frameworks. Module 4 takes you inside the DiscoverDance Experience Membership so you can see lesson plan examples exactly as they are for our members. And, Module 5 takes you inside DiscoverDance classes so you can see our methodology in action with real students. Each stage of development explores a different concept, has a different teacher, and is at different parts of the dance season. Over the next several weeks we are diving deeper into each module, sharing what our students are saying, and answering frequently asked questions so you can decide if it’s the right professional development for you.
