Minute Masterclass Episode 220

Welcome to your one-minute masterclass. I’m Andrea Trench. If you enjoy our minute masterclasses, consider continuing your professional development as a student in our Foundations Course for Early Childhood Dance Educators and as a member of our DiscoverDance Experience online community. You can learn more about both of these opportunities at DiscoverDance.com.  Today, we’re exploring the concepts with shaker eggs.

I Know a Chicken by the Laurie Berkner Band is a call and response song exploring the concepts of DIRECTIONS and SPEED.

I Can Shake My Shaker Egg by Mr. Eric & Mr. Michael is a fun activity that explores the concepts of WEIGHT and SPEED. If you do not like absolute insanity in the classroom, this song is not for you!

Shake Shake by Mr. Eric & Mr. Michael is a classical tune exploring the concepts of BODY PARTS and RELATIONSHIPS.

Shake Freeze by Little Maestros is a great song to introduce your youngest students to shaker eggs. It’s a stop a go song exploring the concepts of LEVEL and SPEED.

Shake, Shake, Shake by Nancy Kopman explores the concepts of PLACE, LEVEL and DIRECTIONS. I like to vary this activity week by week by first starting in a seated circle, then standing circle, then through general space.
